A Brisk Run on a Wooded Trail

A friend joined me with one of my favorite activities — running. Follow along as we trek some miles on a local wilderness trail.

A couple weeks passed since the last time I went running, and I remain determined to be consistent again with physical activity. Most people know that weekly exercise benefits us by improving our health, sleep, mood, sex, and more!

The American Heart Association recommends 150+ minutes of at least moderate activity per week. Any level of training will improve your mood, such as walking, swimming, or cycling. I enjoy hiking and running, and specifically running on trails.

My friend, Ian, takes up my offer to go running sometimes. We planned last night to go running this morning, and I really wanted to hit the trails. Where I live, Murfreesboro offers an extensive greenway system with numerous parks connected alongside it.

On the south side of town, the Barfield-crescent park contains open land with baseball fields and pavilions on its front side. Towards the back, one finds a wilderness station connected to a trailhead. Special features…
