Licorice means ‘sweet root’ in Greek, and humans use it for herbal flavors and remedies. Some say it likes deep, well-draining valleys with full sun. While we harvest the root, it’s considered an herb due to how we use it. Archaeologists found licorice preserved in King Tutankhamun’s Tomb.
